This is a new position, reporting to the VP of Sales. As Sales Manager, you will manage and oversee a team of Account Executives who act as “hunters” to develop and close leads for SMB and MM accounts. The Sales Manager will guide the AE team to learn the AskNicely sales process and understand that “how we sell is as much of a competitive advantage as what we sell.” This role will manage the team to provide end-to-end ownership of the sales process. Prospect, develop, qualify, present, propose, and close new business opportunities. Own strategy, productivity, and growth for your sales team. Ultimately your team will be responsible for actively developing and closing new business leads and meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and lead a team of Account Executives (AEs), by providing vision and direction to implement and scale strategies and processes, to successfully meet and exceed sales targets and close new business
  • Monitor sales team performance and identify achievements as well as areas for improvements
  • Identify and architect a successful pipeline creation process that aligns with our sales approach, including measuring against KPIs and metrics to measure target attainment
  • Hold regular team meetings to ensure alignment of team goals and achievements
  • Understand the business needs, requirements, and/or pain points of our customers and make recommendations for product improvements to better serve customer needs
  • Implement scalable AE training program to develop experienced sales team members to effectively and efficiently develop and close new business leads
  • Partner with the Sales Development Representative (SDR) team to receive new leads
  • Provide leadership with a) accurate forecasts of pipeline and b) regular reporting on sales targets
  • Provide the leadership and mentoring, needed to ensure that we hire, train, and develop AEs so they hit sales targets, while at the same time, are professionally fulfilled by their work and career development
  • Outside of daily management duties, your responsibilities will include fostering a strong team culture, maintaining positive morale, and participating in sales recruiting efforts.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in sales teams, especially focused in SMB/MM accounts
  • Extensive experience in leading a fast-paced technology environment with clearly demonstrated results in owning sales pipeline and success
  • Demonstrated track record of using data analytics to drive toward meeting sales targets
  • 2+ years of leading, managing, and scaling high performing teams in a SaaS and/or B2B environment, including building out KPIs and metrics to hold the AE team accountable
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to explain complex concepts
  • Proven project management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a keen business sense is required
  • Bonus points for working knowledge of the following: Salesforce, Intercom, ChurnZero, Net Promoter Score (NPS) framework, SaaS software
