Business Development Executive
Client Services – Portland, Oregon
We are looking for a Business Development Executive to work within our Client Services team. You will drive Metal Toad’s growth by building strong relationships with prospective clients, partners, and your fellow Toads. You will drive new business across the United States and Europe. You will actively discover, engage, and learn our potential customers’ business challenges in order to identify how the Metal Toad portfolio of services and solutions can help companies gain competitive advantages. This includes the better use of people, processes, and technology to deliver game-changing solutions in a variety of dynamic industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
- Work in coordination with the Executive and Director Team to create and drive company sales strategy plan
- Uphold our company reputation by maintaining a very high standard of quality in activities
- Create and oversee other team members weekly reports to the Executive team on sales pipeline, revenue targets, lead generation, etc.
- Collaborate with internal designers/marketing team to create exceptional marketing and sales collateral
- Comfortable, confident, and able to present and influence C-suite executives
- Membership and participation in business community associations including thought leadership on behalf of Metal Toad and the tech industry (i.e. blogging, speaking)
Sales
- Identify and unlock new sales leads and lead enterprise sales activities
- Develop exceptional enterprise sales strategies tailored for the potential client
- Research new prospects, potential clients, and follow through on leads
- Determine and execute client revenue generating activities and strategy and move them through the pipeline to support the acquisition and retention of Clients
- Develop relationships with senior key decision-makers and drivers
- Create roadmaps that identify opportunities, issues, and risks in order to educate the potential clients on where they should focus efforts and investments
- Gain an expert level of knowledge of Metal Toad’s core technology and service offerings: Drupal, Django, Angular, iOS/Android, .Net, Javascript, React, hosting, advanced analytics, data science, IoT, machine learning, consulting, project management, etc.
- Set aggressive sales goals and take full ownership over meeting those goals
- Travel to potential client locations to pitch and gain valuable face-to-face time
Account Growth
- Provide world class customer service and ensure every potential client has an outstanding experience with Metal Toad
- Ability to navigate a large organization, identify accounts/projects that are in need of our specific services, create high-level budget/scope, identify the key buyers and decision makers
- Exceed customer expectations with open communication, a strong consultative voice, a track record for problem solving, and higher-order thinking skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Read (and agree to) our Corporate Values Statement
- Believe in the company mission
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of proven success representing and selling project based professional services. with relationships ranging from director-level to C-level contacts
- Strong understanding of contracting language, terms, and negotiation tactics
- Experience getting on to preferred vendors lists and negotiating complex MSAs
- An exceptional Rolodex and a strong ability to successfully leverage these relationships
- Experience closing deals in the $500K to $5M+ range.
- Demonstrate discipline, attention to detail, adaptability, quality
- Motivated and excited by the prospect of growing an innovative business
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to travel, sometimes with short notice
