Manager of Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Business Oregon is looking for a highly qualified, dynamic individual, who will report to the Assistant Director of Economic Development and participate as a member(s) of Business Oregon’s Management Team.  The primary purpose of this position is to align staff and programs around a cohesive strategy for investment in Oregon's innovation and entrepreneurial environment. One of the core priorities identified in Business Oregon's new five-year Strategic Plan is to "Innovate Oregon's Economy." This priority includes strategies designed to expand the state's R&D capacity and increase access to capital for high-growth startups.

In addition to supervising and managing the staff in this division, the manager will also be responsible for leading the development of a statewide innovation "road map" that will identify a strategy for enhancement of Innovation and Entrepreneurship as a statewide priority. 

Additionally, the position is responsible for shaping the overall development of innovation initiatives, including policy development (best practices research), managing emerging research projects, program creation, project management, and building relationships/liaison with partners (universities and colleges, national labs, industry, service providers, constituents, etc). The position manages staffing and program implementation related to the Oregon Innovation Council (Oregon InC) and the Oregon Growth Board.
