OCHIN is currently looking for a talented and experienced Software Development Supervisor to join our team!

The Software Development Supervisor is responsible for team leadership, project oversight, maintenance of effective software systems, interface development and ongoing solution development and refinement. This position establishes Key Business Process, coordinates resource availability, measures project deliverables to ensure specifications and timelines are met, and manages overall team performance and development of skills. All supervisor positions at OCHIN are considered working managers and will be required to contribute to the job functions of a programmer/developer.

In the immediate term, the supervisor will manage the UI development team.  This will entail managing design and implementation of Angular and Javascript applications, and leading standardization of processes and documentation.  The supervisor will be an experienced scrum lead, and able to train others effectively in that role.  Technical insight into architectural improvements in the UI development stack is a significant plus.

In this role, you'll be collaborating with an innovative team of people moving exciting projects forward and working to improve systems and processes along the way.

Some of the work you'll do:

  • Manage team of 5-10 developers
  • Perform semi-weekly one on ones
  • Perform quarterly reviews
  • Coach and assist with career growth for team members
  • Involved in hiring process
  • Create and foster relationships in the wider OCHIN family
  • Facilitate inter-department communication and collaboration, i.e. QA, OPEX, Training
  • Work with stake holders to interpret needs and generate stories for backlogs
  • Work with scrum masters and team leadership to create processes for easier implementation and flow, i.e. defining done, acceptance criteria, retrospective techniques
  • Work with POs and managers on road mapping and velocity
  • Work with scrum masters to manage backlog and clarify stories
  • Remove roadblocks for scrum masters and assist with removal of roadblocks for team members
  • Work on development team as a mentor and programmer
  • Complete feature work
  • Assist with bug work
  • Participate in architectural design and decisions
  • Server administration
  • Create and update documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive growth in field; two (2) years of management experience or leadership roles within teams highly preferred;
  • Successful leadership abilities with the focus on bringing people together to execute results;
  • Strong communication skills –speaking and delivering messages clearly as well as listening and understanding other’s needs;
  • Strong scoping skills for software development and analytics;
  • Strong judgment and decision making skills;
  • Experience bringing product to fruition;
  • Experience with multiple software languages and SCRUM methodologies;
  • Proven skills in product execution;
  • Experience building and managing software lifecycle;
  • An understanding of the healthcare industry and requirements for data for decision making and improvement, preferred
