Your Opportunity

The RPM Continuity team is responsible for the reliability of the core Ruby codebase which powers APM, New Relic’s flagship product. Our sophisticated Rails app provides some of the key data and services underlying our top revenue-generating products! We are looking for an engineer to help build, maintain, and to continue to scale our core Rails application. When we aren’t doing that, our goal is to provide a frictionless development experience to other product teams contributing to the code base.

What You'll Do

  • Build a continuous integration & delivery tool to support trying out code live before deploying
  • Join an on-call rotation with a mature and robust incident response process. Every page is analyzed to understand how we can avoid seeing repeats, we take quality of life seriously.
  • Learn from production incidents to make critical improvements to the performance and reliability of systems. We have a blameless retro culture.
  • Develop patterns and processes to improve reliability, scalability, and geographic distribution.
  • Opportunity to plan and lead feature implementations and team projects.

Your Qualifications

  • Experience with Ruby (or a similar dynamic language) in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with alerting, monitoring and observability, among other SRE/DevOps standard methodologies.
  • Written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with the whole team on process and technical issues.

Remote work

We are excited to consider a remote engineer for this role in the Pacific Standard Time zone. If you are not in the PST zone you must be willing to work within our core office hours. Remote team members will be expected to work out of their home office and must have successfully worked as a remote engineer in their current or past position.
