Growing Mental Health Startup Seeks Backend / DevOps Engineer

Mental Health Match is simplifying the search for mental health care. Our platform uses a unique matching algorithm to match people with the therapists and counselors who best meet their needs.

To support the growth of our platform, we seek a versatile backend/devops engineer who is excited to work at a small start up and wear many hats.

This position is a remote opportunity.

Your primary duties will involve development of a Node.js backend that vends JSON using a Postgres database. You will support deployment, data management, reporting, and integration with 3rd party tools. You will also be involved with existing and upcoming infrastructure projects including implementing CI, improving automated testing, and preparing data for consumption by various machine learning methods. Our current environment uses Heroku, multiple AWS services including S3, Lamda, SES, SNS and EC2, Cloudflare, git and GitHub.

The backend API vends to an Angular 9 app running Angular Universal SSR (which uses Express). There is also a Wordpress implementation that hosts additional content outside of the core application. While you’re not expected to develop Angular front end code, you’ll have to manage the build and deployment processes.

Required Skills:

• Building a back-end API using Nodejs, javascript, relational databases, including third party integrations.

• Supporting build processes and continuous integration for node and Angular projects.

• Ability to manage, support and troubleshoot the infrastructure required to run these projects and ancillary technologies.

• Flexibility to both manage and help improve a robust set of systems and technologies required to run a startup with a small team.

• Desire to be part of a small engineering team responsible for all aspects of supporting a web-based business service.

• Web performance tuning

• Tableau or other reporting

Compensation

This is a full-time position. Compensation is a competitive salary plus equity options and health benefits, and is dependent on your experience, interests, and level of commitment to the company.
