We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to help shape the future of mobility together. As moovel’s next Senior DevOps Engineer you’ll be responsible for delivering world-class products to transit agencies and users throughout the world. The ideal candidate will play a key role in rapidly getting high quality code to production while maintaining highly reliable development operations. In this role, you will maximize the predictability, efficiency, security and maintainability of our operational environments.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Attend team planning and stand up meetings
- Provide operational feedback and expertise within the engineering team
- Be an instrumental part in long-term architectural requirements
- On-call rotation for incident response
- Perform infrastructure work and changes
- Identify automation and scripting to help improve development efficiency
- Advocate for automation and tooling changes in planning meetings
- Train developers on tooling use when needed
- Work with other cross functional and product teams to design key platform features
- Other duties as required by the company
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- 2+ years experience of deploying and supporting infrastructure
- 1+ years experience with continuous integration and deployment
- Extensive knowledge of and ability to administer and monitor various services running on Linux
- Strong bash skills and moderate JavaScript fluency
- Proficient with commonly used Amazon Web Services infrastructure and patterns
- Experienced with SQL and NoSQL database technologies
- Must be able to work proficiently on server environments using a console editor such as VI
- Solid understanding of Linux software package systems and deployment schemes
- Experience with automation-centric workflow management
- Familiarity with containerization and server-less architecture concepts
- Demonstrated experience with implementing systems that adhere to security best practices
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Familiarity with Jira
- Strong understanding of RESTful principles
- Familiarity with GraphQL
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and concepts
- Proficiency in Javascript, Node.js
- Experience in micro-service or service oriented architectures
- Understanding of virtualization and containers (Docker)
