Columbia Grain International, LLC. is a long time established full-service grain company in the grain and pulses industry. We are headquartered in Portland, Oregon and own/operate over 45 elevators and offices throughout WA, ID, MN, MT, and ND to support our domestic and export sales program.
We are a mid-size company with just over 350 employees overall. Position Description
The Director of Technology is responsible for managing Columbia Grains technology infrastructure which includes corporate back-office systems (network, telephone, scale system, computers, WIFI) and company productivity infrastructure (email, document storage, Agri specific technology, cyber security). You will develop and grow a team that will lead the company's technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies. The goal is to ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the company.
Overall objectives
- Develop IT strategic plans and oversee their prioritization, justification, and approval working directly with senior leadership.
- Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of the overall company strategies.
- Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.
- Oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) to 350+ employees and evaluate them according to established goals.
- Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.
- Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.
- Responsible for ensuring helpdesk and end-user support meets business objectives an internal SLAs.
- Manage and oversee all stages of the development lifecycle for new projects.
- Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software.
- Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency.
- Act as liaison and advisor between the Senior Leadership Team, IT Team and Senior Managers across all locations and departments.
- Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management.
- Establish annual and long-range security and compliance goals, define strategy, metrics, reporting mechanisms and program services.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership to cross-functional teams coordinating and performing project activities impacting IS to ensure corporation.
- Lead IT staff and other IT partners.
- Control budget and report on expenditure.
- Assist in building relationships with vendors and IT partners and creating cost-efficient contracts

Skills, Knowledge, Education, and Experience
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years experience managing an enterprise corporate computing environment
- 10+ years working with security and compliance-based standards (SSAE, SOC, PCI, ISO 27001)
- 5+ years experience managing cloud-based enterprise IT solutions
- 5+ years experience leading an IT team
- Able to communicate with all levels of employees

- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office, VMWare, Citrix, Windows Server, SQL Server, SQL Server Report Writing Services, Web Development
